One Month

I can't believe its already been a month! Time sure does fly by we've enjoyed having little Olivia in our lives and seeing how much she has changed in just one month. So far we've determined that she really has almost a 1/2 and 1/2 blend between me and Jake. She most definitely has Jakes ears and he thinks she has his head shape and we both apparently have clef chins but I think she has more his then mine. Then she has my lips and my eyes so far..  and she has a ton of the same facial expressions mostly always sucking on her lower lip :)

Our sleeping baby

So this cracked me up today I went up to check on her and she was totally asleep but her arm from the elbow up sticking straight up and for a while crazy..

She was starting to wake up in this photo so getting a little fussy but she almost always sleeps with her legs like that and thats usually how her legs are when I try to change her diaper she like to make it difficult :)

9 Months of Work

I made this video for you Cami.  I know that you struggled a lot through the last 9 months to bring this incredible blessing into our lives.  Thank you Cami for being so brave and so strong. Even when we found out that Olivia was not coming the way we planned, you were strong and never showed any fear.  I love you and we are an eternal family.

Love,

Jake

Delivery Day

Soooo this is Jake on Delivery Day ( watching football .. I was actually really grateful there was college games on that friday I felt bad for Jake and didn't want him to be totally bored.. I was completely out of it and couldn't really concentrate on anything)

and this is me... haha ok  I didn't have the air mask on me all day that was right before I found out I would need a C- Section I needed a lil extra oxygen for me and the baby.
Ok so I'll make this short in the morning I had dilated to a 2 and was 50% effaced which was great things were moving along well. Then the doctor came back a couple hours later I hadn't changed at all so now we had the choice to pack it up and go home or stay so we decided to stay just for a little bit longer and see if anything would change. Well we ended up needing to have the dr come back an hr later instead of 3 because the contractions were getting really bad and i needed a epidural. This whole time I was like ok just let there be some big change if we're meant to have this baby today. So I had dilated to a 3 and was 80% effaced within an hr so we decided to stay! Then the Dr. came back a hrs later I was at a 4 and 90% ..... and then a few hrs later unfortunatly same story and the babies heart beat was going down with my contractions and I was pretty out of it when he was explaining this but something to do with the position of the baby and how narrow my pelvis is and and it was shaped compared to other people I would need a C-section.  Which I was at peace with to be honest I really really didn't want one. and the pic below I'm getting cut open haha which of course wasn't bad there was some awkward feelings like rib tugging and when I was being sewed up I just felt a lot of cramps with that.
So a big reason I didn't want a C-section is because I hear women have a harder time connecting with their babies at first and I was afraid it would take away from the experience. But I am not a person at ALL that likes to show emotion in public and I always feel awkward about really personal experiences and sharing that with people and I  DO NOT cry. But as soon as they pulled that baby out and I heard her cry I couldn't stop I seriously had to control myself from totally bawling big time. I didn't get to see her for a few mins I actually saw her for the first time in a picture. But heres a little sample of her in the delivery room and it was SOOOO cold in there  I felt so bad.

So I have to say I'm so grateful for Jake and what a wonderful person he is. He has been SO awesome during this whole thing and has helped out so much I know theres alot of guys out there that wouldn't even come close to helping as much as he has. I'm so glad that he was able to give me like a million priesthood blessings to get me through the whole experience. He also is seriously the cutest dad and LOVES holding her and doesn't get frustrated with her when she just wont stop crying .. and he doesnt even get frustrated when she pees on him haha.

So this is a picture of us right before we were on our way to the hospital after dinner. So Thursday night they were actually just softing my cervix which started contractions right away for me. Apparently I had been having contractions for a while just had no idea thats what they felt like till a machine was telling me!

So we're both very excited to be having a girl :) and no Jake wasn't even a little bit disappointed. I've actually been having a lot of fun with Jake and for those who know Jake he is not a fan of kids.. I always knew he would like he's own kids but I didn't totally expect him to be like this right away! 1st thing um Jake HATES HATES shopping and its just not fun to go with him but we went shopping for some baby clothes and he was so into it and going off on his own coming back with stuff that in his words were so cute haha. He's also very into deciding how we're going to decorate the babies room infact he wants to put a little bit more into it then I've planned on! Of course he kisses my belly every day through out the day! But now we're barely 1/2 way through! and I have to say the old wives tale is true you get more sick with a girl cause this whole sickness thing is just not going to stay away! Oh well...

We tried octopus YUCK ... i didn't like it Jake did though.. oh and I def. did not eat that thing next to my mouth but Jake did and said all the suction cup things were sticking in his mouth.

This other roll was called the Spider Roll.. I knew it came with crab meat in it but at first when I saw the 2 end pieces I thought they were turantuala cause they looked kind of hairy haha.

Look how far we've come

So this is kind of dumb but I was just going through all of my photos on the computer and I'm not gonna lie I forgot how far we've come with computers haha...  Seriously I can't believe how small that thing is. But I have to say I miss all the old school games we had on the DOS disk( if thats what they are called? ) that I would play all the time :)

P.S. I would also like to point out in the corner the old school printing paper.. the kind you had to rip off the sides.

Sooo I just thought I would show off one of the sweet things Jake has done for me :) He made me this amazing dinner... He took it out of the cookbook I got for christmas and ummm yeah everything tasted so amazing! I thought it was so cute and he got me those flowers from the Japanese lady down the street which it doesn't matter how cold it is outside or windy she is sitting out there selling roses!

New Calling

Yahh... this should interesting both Jake and I get to teach the CTR 5 class... I gotta say i've taught relief society and yws I feel like teaching primary takes a lot more effort with all the activities and stuff. So yeah it will be a good experience for us I personally get super uncomfortable with other peoples kids when it comes to family no biggy. But Jake taught our 1st lesson and he was super cute with the kids I was impressed :)

All in the name of christmas and surprises ;)

This was jakes big present for christmas ( had no idea table saws were this huge I thought I was going to be able to fit it in my car!) ..... he got way spoiled this christmas. But n e who yes all in the name of christmas and surprises I took this thing out of the truck slid it through our house and then took it up allll those stairs by myself! So I could hide it in our random extra room. I gotta say that thing was not light and yeah I was thinking oh I could just slide it up the stairs nope I had to flip it up the stairs and I had to get like a running start to push it against the stairs cause I could not lift it off the ground ( it took 2 guys at home depot to lift it ). Lets just say my back was hurting for a few days.
